Hi there, how are ya?
My name is Conor. I'm a photographer and artist based in breezy beautiful Amsterdam in the Netherlands. I was born in Dublin, Ireland to an Irish mother and Maltese father.
I always had some sort of camera growing up. My most memorable one was shaped like a Coors Light beer can. The lens popped out the side when you pressed a button. It was so cool.
After graduating from the National College of Art and Design in 2010, I took a year off from making art to making music. I had wonderful experiences making records and playing gigs across Europe with two other amazing musicians.
In the decade since, I have worked in the still-life commercial photography world.
In the meantime, I began experimenting with plastic waste as a medium for my personal work. Since then I have held two solo shows, Plasticity and Solamente, in the heart of Amsterdam.
Watch. Imagine. Practice.
Since I was very little, I’ve watched people, especially my father, make things. I was eager to get my hands dirty and physically help, but for the longest time, I watched. Now I find that all the little skills that I picked up and developed over the years constantly come in handy on set.
I love having something precious in my care to photograph.
Sometimes it’s a brand new, super-secret product that no one is allowed to even see or touch yet; or it’s precious like a one-off art piece that's super delicate and completely irreplaceable.
